The Ultimate Ravecation Guide: NYC Halloween 2025

Apparently, the spells, seances, and summonings worked… 👻 After months in the crypt, we heard your call and have risen to bring you the ultimate NYC Halloween guide — the spookiest, rave-iest, sickest Halloweek anyone (alive or dead) could dream up.

🕸️ Curated and approved by a long-time raver + NYC resident (yours truly).🕸️ This isn’t a list of everything happening — just the spots, events, and eats we’d actually hit ourselves. NYC can be overwhelming plus lots of TikTok bait out there, so it’s essential to narrow things down to what is actually good.

The perfect PARTY itinerary… if you dare

Where to Stay

Note: There are a lot of legal restrictions on short-term rentals (AirBnB, VRBO, etc) in NYC so you’ll notice there’s not many options there! Hotels are the way to go or private short term rentals (If you don’t know anyone, you can get lucky sometimes on the Gypsy Housing FB group). Beware of scammers!

  • Williamsburg/Bushwick
    • Most parties are in this area so it will make those late night Ubers pretty cheap! And it’s still easy to get to the city for daytime activities by train.
    • Some hotels we like:
      • Moxy Williamsburg
      • William Vale
      • Hoxton
      • Wythe
      • Arlo
  • Downtown Manhattan
    • Close to the Halloween parade and also so much to do during the day!
    • Some hotels we like:

      • The Standard East Village
      • Moxy East Village

If it’s your first time in NYC and you do want to do the touristy things like Time Square, Central Park etc and want to be close by you might want to consider it. (But this wouldn’t be our first choice! You can really do all that stuff in 1 day and can get here from any of the other areas above pretty easily by train or uber)
    • Some hotels we like:
      • Hilton Midtown
      • Dream Midtown

Getting Around/Transportation

  • Use Google Maps Public Transportation setting or the MyMTA app. Don’t be turned off if a route suggests the bus, the MTA buses are actually great (clean and cool with a dedicated bus lane that can skip traffic, they just don’t come as often).
  • From airport
    • JFK
      • To Manhattan – we recommend taking the AirTrain then the subway. It’s much cheaper and takes the same amount of time! Taxis do offer a flat rate to anywhere in Manhattan but it is still much more expensive than the public transportation route.
      • To Brooklyn – we recommend taking the Airain then the subway. It’s much cheaper and takes the same amount of time!
    • LGA
      • To Manhattan – If you are going uptown, ride share or public transportation are both viable options as they take the same amount of time. Your decision will come down to price!  If you are going downtown, it’s much faster via car.
      • To Brooklyn – we recommend ride share! It will take 2 or 3 times as long via public transportation.
    • EWR
      • To Manhattan- We recommend taking the train to Penn Station. It’s the most efficient and affordable option. Taking a car can get pricey and don’t save you that much time.
      • To Brooklyn- The most cost-effective option is to take the train to Penn Station, and transfer to the subway from there. Depending on traffic, taking a car could be faster but will be much more expensive.
  • Around the city
    • Train – Our preferred method of transportation in the day time.
    • Car – usually never worth it to get around Manhattan during the day but can be worth it in Brooklyn. We recommend taking a car no matter where you are once the sun goes down! Especially if you are alone.
    • Bike – if you are feeling adventurous, there are CitiBikes all around the city. But make sure you wear a helmet and be safe! It’s not your typical city…

Other Things to do

  • Walk the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan
  • Go for a Run on the George Washington Bridge
  • KBBQ + Karaoke in K-Town
  • More Museums
    • MoMa
    • Guggenheim
    • The Frick
    • The Met
  • Gym/workout. Cool gyms around the city, you can see if they have day passes directly or check ClassPass
    • Soul Cycle
    • Rumble (kickboxing)
    • Y7 hot yoga (intense)
    • St marks yoga (chill yoga! Super cute studio)
    • F45 (45 minute full body workout)
    • Form 50 (50 minute full body workout)
  • The very touristy things
    • Statue of Liberty
    • Empire State Building
    • Times Square
    • Go to the Zoo – there are several
    • Brooklyn botanical garden or New York Botanical garden
    • Go see a sports game!
    • See a Broadway show

Other Tips

  • Tickets are strongly encouraged, most events sell out and will not accept walk-ups.
  • Plan your eats and your sleeps. Most restaurants in NYC require reservations, do those now!! We recommend doing the sightseeing and restaurant reservations before the weekend so you are fully energized!
  • Weather is very unpredictable during Halloween! Don’t believe the weather app and plan for everything. Hot, cold, or rainy! And bring at least 1 light jacket, 1 medium, and even 1 heavier duty (puffy) jacket, if you get cold easily (I’m looking at you, Miami friends).
  • Bring a fan (eventhough it might be cold outside, events can get hot!)
  • Stay hydrated, be safe, and have fun!
