Transportation Options

  • Top pick! Shuttle buses: Even if you are not staying at one of the hotels with the shuttle stops, you can take them from the Park and Ride stops as long as you buy a shuttle pass! They are super efficient.
  • Private Driver: Palm Springs residents know this is a great time to make extra money so alot of driving services are available. This is great because you don’t have to depend on surges or wait times. If you don’t have a contact, you can order an uber on Day 1, and see if your driver is willing to be contracted privately.
  • Drive + Park: A great option if you have a designated driver! Just make sure to buy a parking pass. Pro-tip: If you fill your car with 4 people or more and decorate it CARPOOLCHELLA, you might get chosen to win Coachella VIP for Life.
  • Rideshare: Coachella is one of the most organized festivals in the world, so even Uber/Lyft is pretty smooth. But still the least preferred options as you are subject wait times and surge prices.

Other activities nearby

  • Desert X: Desert X is a free self-guided outdoor art experience that goes through several sites throughout Coachella Valley. You can make a day of it to visit each site or visit as many sites as you choose – it’s all up to you.
  • Palm Springs: Known for its resorts and golf clubs, Palm Springs is great for either easing into the weekend or some nice decompression days. There’s a few shopping districts and spas, as well.
  • Joshua Tree: One of the most unique National Parks in the United States. Beautiful both in the day time as well as night, especially for stargazing. The area is great for hiking and rock climbing or just a gorgeous photo opp. The neighboring town also features quirky shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneertown is a staple for live music in the area.

Other helpful tips

  • Always bring sunglasses and bandana or face mask for the dust!
  • It is SUPER hot during the day but can get cold at night. If you plan on staying at the festival the whole time, be prepared for both. You can keep stuff in a locker(available for purchase) if you want. There’s also re-entry if you want to go home and change but not really worth it unless you are camping.
  • The Yuma Tent(our favorite for the house and techno lovers!!): It’s great to visit during the day not just because the music is awesome but also because it is air conditioned and the line is less long. To that point, if you are seeing any sets there in the night time, plan ahead, it can take a while to get inside!
  • If you are going Weekend 1, we recommend ending the festival at Mainstage at least one day. You are almost guaranteed to get some amazing surprise guests.
  • Hit every stage!! And don’t forget Do-Lab, Quasar, and Heineken House.
  • Gobi/Mojave area can get really crowded later in the evening. If you want to catch a set there, you’ll want to get a good spot early and don’t expect to be able to easily/quickly get out afterwards.
  • Driving back to LA or San Diego after the festival? Your best bet is to wait at least 1 day to avoid mass exodus.
  • if you have an AMEX, make sure to link your card in the Coachella app to access extra benefits.
  • You actually can hold the string of balloons that go over the whole festival!
  • Arrive early if you want to ride the ferris wheel with minimal wait time.
  • There are Neutrogena sunscreen dispensers around the festival.
  • STAY COOL! DRINK WATER and bring a fan (clack at your own caution!)
