Other Helpful Tips
- If it’s your first time in Tulum, stay on the beach. There’s a lot of traffic getting there, so you’ll want to be able to walk to all the hotspots.
- For returning visitors, Aldea zama and la Velea are much more low key and you can get some really big and luxurious homes for a solid price.
- Rent a bike or scooter to get around during the day if you are mainly staying near Tulum Beach or Aldea Zama. If you are exploring neighboring parts, consider renting a car because taxis can get expensive. Definitely not worth driving at night, though. If you can find a private driver for the week that will be your best option because taxis are expensive, especially in the late night or early morning hours especially leaving party. You can expect at least $100USD for the ride. You can try to negotiate but others will pay that, so drivers know they can charge you that.
- If you rent an ATV, there are special regulations for parking and driving on the street you will want to get familiar with to avoid getting a ticket.
- Don’t flaunt valuables, be vigilant as with anything else!
- Have fun and be safe!
